After years of teaching young adults in secondary schools across Europe, I have had the opportunity to have several fruitful conversations that surprisingly were not always about sports, partying and the opposite sex. But rather lively and unique life narratives that not just explained their fears, desires and development, but also that they mostly all seem to share the following common “ I am alone in my condition or experience” which is a dreadful thought that may in fact lead to even more dreadful outcomes such as the development of mental disorders or even suicide! It was then that the actual value of their stories struck me, as it's never easy to share personal problems, particularly when several other life changing biological factors such as puberty are affecting one’s cognitions. Hence, I felt the need to compile and publish life stories of some of the many young minds that I have met along the way, with the intention to tell other developing minds out there “You are not alone!” This is an important phase in your life that will transform you into a better person much needed in the ever changing, uncertain future of our planet, and most likely it will end all fine, and if you don’t believe me, just read some of the chapters in this book, as they are all tales based on true facts from young adults just like you!
